LIN VOLUNTEER STORIES COMPETITION 2011

 

 

Encouraged by the support and interest in LIN first Volunteer Stories competition 2010, and with support from Give2Asia, in September 2011, the LIN Center organized a second contest with the topic, “The power of sharing”. Through this competition, we would like to highlight the impact volunteers are creating in their communities by sharing their resources, whether it is their time, their expertise, their skills set, or their high energy. 

Over the course of two months, we received 90 stories, 32 photos and 10 videos from volunteers and organizations throughtout the country. We are happy to announce the results of the competition:

  •  Grand Prize for a Volunteer Host Organization (VHO): 10 million VND

            5 gio sang (HCMC)

 

  •  Grand Prize for a Volunteer: 10 million VND

           Nguyen Huong Dao (Nam Dinh)

  •  Category prize: 1 million VND each

 

·         Best photo: Gia dinh Cau Vong (HCMC) (plus a MobiVi account worth 100,000 VND)

·         Best video: Lifestart Foundation (Da Nang)

·         Best Listener: Nguyen Chau Ngoc Phu (HCMC) (plus a MobiVi account worth 100,000 VND)

·         Most inspiring: Nguyen Thi Thu Hang (Ha Noi) (plus a MobiVi account worth 100,000 VND)

·         Most nurturing: Le Thi Minh Yem (Da Lat)

·         Most committeed: Duong Phuong Hanh (HCMC) (plus a MobiVi account worth 100,000 VND)

·         Best story about a skilled volunteer: Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED)

·         Judge Choice: Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong (HCMC) (plus a MobiVi account worth 100,000 VND)

·         Best story by an English speaking volunteer: Quang D. Truong (Da Nang)

 

  •  Consolation prize: We awarded Megastar Movie tickets to the individual and groups of volunteers whose stories were shortlisted to the final round but did not win bigger prizes.

LIN VOLUNTEER STORIES COMPETITION 2010

 

In September 2010, the LIN Center for Community Development announced winners of a nationwide competition for volunteer stories. Over the course of the competition, LIN received a total of 90 narratives, 10 videos and 234 photos. It is our pleasure to announce the winners as well as to share some of our winning stories.
