Community Philanthropy - The Missing Link in Development, 20 March 2015

On 20 March 2015, on the occasion of a visit by Ms. Jenny Hodgson, Director of the Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF) and Founder of the Global Alliance for Community Philanthropy and a delegation from the Learning for Development Association from Vientianne, Laos, the LIN Center for Community Development was pleased to co-organize a roundtable discussion on "Community Philanthropy – The Missing Link in Development: Global Trends and The Vietnam Experience".

The Modern Philanthropy Exchange, 16 September 2014

The purpose of the meeting is to bring together women philanthropists who, as studies have shown, are best poised and capable of challenging the root causes of injustice and social inequality in our community. Participants in the meeting will learn about recent trends in philanthropy in the US and Vietnam; they will have an opportunity to exchange ideas about giving in different contexts and cultures; and contribute to an early discussion on how to support a community that wants to make a larger impact with their giving activities. HCMC Grantmakers Forum, 21 October 2010

The forum for grantmakers was designed as an opportunity for grantmakers to impart knowledge, share experiences, identify common goals and possible synergies while building a better understanding about the community in which they operate. The goal of the forum was to improve the quality of life in our community by making us all more informed and effective grantmakers.
